Case study: Chelsea Football Club

It is well known that Chelsea Football Club invests in top quality coaching for their players and that this investment gives returns that can be seen in the team’s successful performance. What is not so well known is Chelsea FC’s commitment to training for all of their staff. Since 2008 ST*R Learning has been delivering management training for staff throughout their organisation on a regular basis. People from all areas – including their two hotels, retail outlets, restaurant, health club and spa, corporate hospitality, IT services, Chelsea TV, finance and security – have improved their skills through ILM-accredited management training and workshops.

In 2010 Chelsea FC asked ST*R Learning to develop a series of short sessions to address key issues at work. The 90-minute Bite-Size sessions that we designed for them have been such a success that Chelsea FC continues to reorder them.

Chelsea FC has given ST*R Learning glowing feedback. Employees gave ST*R Learning an average score of 95% overall satisfaction with the training they received in 2016. When asked how much they thought the training would impact their performance, they gave an average score of 89%.

After completing an ILM management training qualification, Jeremie Dardard, Revenue Manager at Chelsea FC, told ST*R Learning: "I have learnt a lot from this ILM Award and being able to put these learnings into practice feels even more rewarding. I am extremely grateful to Chelsea for giving me this opportunity but especially to you for the quality of your courses."

 

Case study: NHS Facilities Management Services (NHS FMS)

We worked with NHS FMS for over six years providing leadership and management development. We developed a close working relationship that enabled us to respond to learning and development needs with bespoke workshops, management qualifications and executive coaching as and when required.  During the the period that we worked with NHS FMS the organisation faced huge changes in working practices as well as budget cut backs. Our training and development enabled them to change focus to become an organisation that worked ‘smarter’. Workshops were often delivered as three-hour sessions so that delegates did not lose a whole day of work.
